A Scam for the Ages
Before the ink was dry on the legislation that now bears his signature, Trump declared his intention to ignore or defy provisions for congressional oversight in the coronavirus relief bill he had just signed into law:
“…Trump intends to ignore provisions in the newly passed $2 trillion coronavirus relief bill intended to shore up Congress’ oversight of the massive rescue program.
The legislation establishes a “special inspector general” to review and investigate loan decisions made by the treasury secretary as part of the coronavirus relief effort, an accountability measure that was a central part of Democrats’ demands to shore up transparency in the bill. The provision requires the inspector general to notify Congress if he or she is “unreasonably refused or not provided” any information.
But in a signing statement issued shortly after he approved the bill, Trump says he’ll be the last word on whether this provision is followed….
…Trump also indicated he would treat as optional a requirement in the bill that key congressional committees be consulted before Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of State or U.S. Agency for International Development spends or reallocates certain funds…”

Despite having gone through an impeachment which was thought by some to have ‘taught him a lesson’, Trump continues to believe that he is above the law.
The Trump, Mnuchin, & Barr triumvirate will do all they can to complete the 1/2 trillion dollar heist, which was the goal of the scam of this young century, even if it doesn’t go down as the scam of the ages….
Trump has no intention of ‘winning’ a second term in office…
His intention is to try to steal a second term…
If you don’t believe me, just watch…

Absolutely! Not only was I shocked by Trump’s statement, but I am also shocked by how little the media has made of it. It is as you stated, “a scam for the ages.”

Bitey, I don’t believe that the media has caught on to what just took place.
Trump signed on to the legislation without so much as a perfunctory skim through the table of contents or glossary of terms…
He had/has no intention of obeying the letter of the law contained in the document he signed…
As to the spirit of the law; that’s the shiny object he used to misdirect media attention in order to perform the slight of hand required to complete the scam worth 50 billion dollars to Trump & friends…

Art, when did you take the ‘survey’?
If you’re serious, I appreciate the vote of confidence.
If you’re pulling my leg, I appreciate the confidence you have in my sense of humor…
