BindleSnitch Development Notes

PLEASE NOTE THAT COMMENTS HAVE BEEN TURNED OFF ON THIS POST. IF YOU WANT TO MAKE COMMENTS ON THE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS, PLEASE GO TO BINDLESNITCH UPDATES AND MAKE YOUR COMMENTS THERE.

Bindlesnitch has not been maintained properly.I stopped paying for the renewals on plugins more than two years ago and, as a result, the website is seriously outdated. Nevertheless, the site does what it was originally designed to do. You can post and retrieve articles and comment on them. However, since my memory is no longer as reliable as it once was, I am posting some notes to myself about how to do certain things and how to undo them if it becomes necessary.

How to edit pages:

  1. Log in as an administrator
  2. Open the page you want to edit
  3. Click on the EDIT PAGE open in the menu bar at the top of the screen
  4. You should then see the rows set up for the page and the widgets in the blocks on the page.
  5. If all you see are lines of code, then go to PLUGINS on the sidebar, and scroll down to PUBLISHPRESS. If PUBLISHPRESS is activated, deactivate it, then deactivate PUBLISHPRESS CHECKLIST. If this doesn’t work, you are shit out of luck.
  6. Remember to turn PUBLISHPRESS AND PUBLISHPRESS CHECKLIST back on when you are done.

How to Edit The Footer on the Home Page

  1. I am turning the footer on the home page off because it is way out of date and because no one ever used it.
  2. In order to turn on the footer section on the home page, go to the THEMIFY MAGAZINE section on the SIDEBAR.
  3. Select THEME SETTINGS
  4. Scroll down to FOOTER WIDGETS
  5. To turn the FOOTER WIDGETS ON, select the WIDGETS 3 COLUMN (because that was how I originally designed the page) and save the Theme Settings.
  6. To turn the FOOTER WIDGETS OFF, simply select the NO WIDGETS buttton. This will remove the widgets.
  7. In order to edit the CONTENTS OF THE WIDGETS IN THE FOOTER, scroll down the sidebar until you find the APPEARANCE section
  8. Select WIDGETS from APPEARANCE
  9. You can then selectively edit the widgets that appear Footer Widget 1, Footer Widget 2 and Footer Widget 3.
  10. Widget 1 refers to the four buttons on the bottom left side of the screen. These budgets can be configured to open any page on the website or anywhere else on the internet.
  11. Widget 2 refers to the picture in the middle section of the footer. You can change the image but editing that button under widget 2.
  12. Widget 3 refers to the four buttons on the right side of the screen. You can edit any of the buttons by opening that widget and editing the contents of the button and the link assigned to the button.
