I have recently been accused of running a crooked game here by not publishing articles that aren't sufficiently leftish for my tastes. This is rather funny, because I don't publish anything on BindleSnitch myself

Sometimes good ideas turn out to be not so good. We're reverting to the previous home page design with the smaller images, and dropping a few other news items for members only.

It’s not just the virulent racism, masquerading as usual as something else, in this case some sort of concern for authenticity. Of an animated character. The arguments here go from ridiculous to clinically insane.

I had a clock radio at the time. I couldn’t figure out how to rig up my stereo system to wake me up, so I had an idea: take an earphone, the kind we used to use with transistor radios, cut off the earphone itself, strip the wires, plug the plug into the earphone output on the clock radio (they had them) and feed the stripped wires into the back of one of the Altecs. I tried it and I got pleasant sound out of the clock radio, way, way better than I was getting out of the 1 ½” speaker inside the clock radio.

Someone comes to a Chamber meeting and announces that you all have a choice: Either one person is going to move to town who makes a billion dollars a year or ten thousand people are going to move to town who make $50,000 apiece.
Unless you're in the business of selling yachts, mansions, or Rolls Royces, you're not opting for the billionaire.

Equal justice under law is a phrase engraved on the front of the United States Supreme Court building in Washington D.C. It is also a societal ideal that has influenced the American legal system.

Playing the Race Card is one of those expressions like Class Warfare that is all about a dominant population telling a dominanted population to shut up and accept oppression.

A lot of economists and business people will tell you that regulation is the enemy of business, that a free market left alone functions optimally and that government invariably screws it up - the more regulation, the worse. According to this model, the private sector is inherently efficient while government is inherently inefficient. In an awful lot of circles, this is dogma, accepted as truth by definition.
It is also complete crap.

By: koshersalaami I’ve been doing some local playing and a guy I’ve done some playing with told me about a local recording studio where he does a lot of work. He’s mainly a guitar player/bass player but he’s been playing keyboard where necessary, but he’s no keyboard player

Once again, the Survivors from Open Salon are being thrown back out into the wilderness again. Moving yet again raises the question of where to move to. There are a couple of pages on Facebook, such as Orphans of Open Salon, that have tried to pick up the slack

We are living through a period in which we are seeing the collapse of the world order that we were born and raised in and watching as it is replaced by an alien socio-economic and political system that we don't even recognize any more. Nowhere is the discrepancy between the collective will and the political obstructions to the collective will more obvious than

It's no secret to anyone that we are all under constant surveillance. London is probably the most surveilled city in the world, with security cameras focused on just about every public place in the city, but most cities are now gridlocked with intersecting security cameras.

We are being lulled into believing that Donald Trump is a clown, an egotistical, self-centered, narcissistic bully, an ignoramus.
Trump may be some of those things, but he isn't neither stupid nor ignorant.

You will notice that the sizes of the images on the left hand column of the home page have been increased.
This was made necessary by a formatting problem on the mobile version of the website. At the former size of the featured images, the headlines were wrapping around the featured image, which trashed the home page design on mobile platforms. That has now been corrected by increasing the size of the featured image.
We will be increasing the number of items in the sidebar to compensate.
If you cannot find the excerpt box, you can turn it on by going to the Screen Options tab at the top right hand corner of the screen, right under your screen name.
Open the Screen Options and make sure the Excerpts is checked off. If it is not checked off, click on the box to turn it on. You should only have to do this once. Note that all of the options in the Screen Options Box must be turned on in order for the system to operate properly.
Also note that the Excerpt box may pop up in the right hand column or underneath the text entry window, so look for it in both places.
