This is the face of modern day Israel.
Dear Nancy, Let me clue you in on a couple of thing, mm'kay?
It’s not just the virulent racism, masquerading as usual as something else, in this case some sort of concern for authenticity. Of an animated character. The arguments here go from ridiculous to clinically insane.
When Trump pulled out of the Paris Accords, I assumed he did it to take limits off of American corporations. I guess that’s a logical assumption.
What does this tell "us" about ourselves and our country?
What it took to save an old wooden bridge from destruction and how LIFE happens in and around that bridge.
I had a clock radio at the time. I couldn’t figure out how to rig up my stereo system to wake me up, so I had an idea: take an earphone, the kind we used to use with transistor radios, cut off the earphone itself, strip the wires, plug the plug into the earphone output on the clock radio (they had them) and feed the stripped wires into the back of one of the Altecs. I tried it and I got pleasant sound out of the clock radio, way, way better than I was getting out of the 1 ½” speaker inside the clock radio.

Equal justice under law is a phrase engraved on the front of the United States Supreme Court building in Washington D.C. It is also a societal ideal that has influenced the American legal system.
Playing the Race Card is one of those expressions like Class Warfare that is all about a dominant population telling a dominanted population to shut up and accept oppression. Koshersalaami

A lot of economists and business people will tell you that regulation is the enemy of business, that a free market left alone functions optimally and that government invariably screws it up - the more regulation, the worse. According to this model, the private sector is inherently efficient while government is inherently inefficient. In an awful lot of circles, this is dogma, accepted as truth by definition. It is also complete crap. koshersalaami

And when they do come, treat them like you treat black people and other people of color...
Sometimes the view is worth the drive and the reason for the drive becomes much less important than it was when you started.
My Story was hard to come by. Nobody told it to me. I’m not sure that I am glad that nobody told me my story, or my father’s or grandfather’s story. Ours was not a story telling family. I became a historian because of stories and story telling.

My first post about Beethoven was on the OS platform. It had been there since September of 2009. Here's the title: "WasBeethoven Black? Was His African Heritage Whitewashed?
Over 60 Democratic Party members in Congress (along with several members of the GOP, to boot) are fighting their own "leadership" to start impeachment proceedings against Trump.
A new era. Lots of bells and whistles. Will we have lift off?
This article describes some of the work being done to create a safe harbor for contributors who are coming from Our Salon, but it contains useful information for anyone who is interested in joining BindleSnitch
This is the opening post for the Your Salon experiment.
Once again, the Survivors from Open Salon are being thrown back out into the wilderness again. Moving yet again raises the question of where to move to. There are a couple of pages on Facebook, such as Orphans of Open Salon, that have tried to pick up the slack
