Green Blaupunkts for the Left-Pure

It’s been suggested that a useful move for Left Pure would be to act as prods working within the Democratic Party.

It’s a course I don’t see Greens taking.

They’ve shown themselves to be more interested in ideological, self-congratulatory purity (as well as in lobbing the occasional sop to anti-vaxxer science-phobic plague-enthusiasts)  than in effective action.

I’m confident in this last because they do not lay out what their independent, effective group action plan might look like beyond platforms and platforms are not action-plans.

And if the effect of anyone’s call to action, even if it’s not the fullness of the call’s intent,  is  THE FIX IS IN!, no one’s going to listen well enough, long enough, build coalitions enough, to act effectively.

People fall into this, opting for ideologically condemnatory, depressing, if not nihilistic speech rather than laying out plans, inviting potential allies along, when they’re comfortable, far more secure than those for whom they claim to speak.

It puts me in mind of some of my loudest yet least effective self-labeled Marxist ’60s profs whose fondest desire was not, despite the rhetoric, laying out social justice action-plans and seeing them enacted, but sorting out who could give them the best deal on long-coveted Blaupunkt turntables and speakers.
