I’m Beginning to Suspect That…
Many , if not most, of the people who engaged vociferously in posting and commenting on the now defunct Open Salon and Our Salon platforms and sites did so as prima donnas 
and
preening peacocks.
The people who were used to, and comfortable with, posting unsubstantiated pseudo-intellectual bullshit were disappearing and falling by the wayside well before BindleSnitch was offered as a viable alternative to not being able to post at all…
If this place is to work, it will work because people who write, care about the writing and the right to do so, not about the display or the splash…

Just realized that I didn’t check the ‘comments’ box…
Seems to me that “comments permitted” ought to be the default posture for all posts.
Authors should be required to manually switch comments off if “no comments” is the desired posture…
