In Case You Missed It: Obama Endorses Biden

In case you didn’t know, there is historical precedent for a former president to be appointed to the Supreme Court.

President Warren G. Harding appointed Taft to be chief justice, a position in which he served until a month before his death.

William Howard Taft, the 27th President of the United States from 1909 to 1913, later served on the Supreme Court as Chief Justice from 1921 to 1930, according to his White House biography.

President Obama’s biggest hurdle to a Supreme Court appointment would likely be a political one if the Senate were to remain in the control of the Republican Party.
