THE SITUATION AROUND US

If you listen to the current occupant of the Oval Office, we are in the midst of a spasm of mob rule…but only in Democratic cities and states…in the wake of nationwide protests over the police murders of George Floyd and other people of color who are too numerous to enumerate.  The current occupant of the Oval Office has completely ignored the armed occupations of state capitals and city halls by armed reactionaries, right wing militias and white supremacists…except when he chooses to praise  them as “loyal Americans.”

If you listen to the current occupant of the Oval Office, the COVID-19  epidemic  now widely known as The Trump Virus, is a hoax designed to thwart his re-election effort.

If you listen to the current occupant of the Oval Office, the United States has the lowest death rate from the virus when in fact the United States has the third highest death rate from the virus.

Around the world, the coronavirus is ebbing. In the United States, the coronavirus is surging out of control but the current occupant of the Oval Office claims that the reason the virus is surging in the United States is that we have increased the number of tests we are performing, suggesting that if there were less testing we would have fewer cases of the virus being reported, which is both obvious and insane.

The Second Most Important Election in American History

We are now in the final months before the second most momentous election in American history. The most momentous election in American history was, obviously , the 1860 election that put Abraham Lincoln into the Oval Office, triggering the Civil War.

We thought the honor of being the second most momentous election  belonged to the 2008 election that put a person of color into the White House. We were wrong.  We thought that the 2016 election was the most momentous election in American history, but it wasn’t that because we didn’t know what we were getting when the current president was elected by exactly 77,774 votes, 10,704 in Michigan, 44,292 in Pennsylvania, and 22,744 in Wisconsin.

The current occupant of the Oval Office did not win the 2016 election. He won 62,984,828 votes. Hillary Clinton won 65,853,514. Note that, if Jill Stein  had not been on the ballot, there is no question that Hillary Clinton would be running for re-election today. To be fair, if Gary Johnson had not been on the ballot, Hillary Clinton would have lost regardless of whether Jill Stein was on the ballot. The Green party candidate stole 132,476 votes from Clinton. The Libertarian candidate stole 425,525 votes from the Republican candidate.

This is the second most momentous election in American history because, this time, we know what we are getting if the current occupant of the Oval Office is re-elected. If the incumbent is given a second term in office, he will destroy America.

Introducing the American Gestapo

The president of the United States, through various subordinates, is sending anonymous unidentified federal officers into American cities to “restore order” in the absence of any legal authority to do so. (In fact, we don’t actually know who these people are but we have been led to assume that they are federal officers. For all we know, they could be members of various militia organizations.)
 
These “federal officers” are taking American citizens into custody without warrants, without any exigent circumstances that justify their detention and holding them incommunicado against their will.
 
There have been reports that some people who have been detained have been released as soon as they exercise their right to demand legal counsel.
 
The only reason that a police officer – any police officer – ever releases a “person of interest” upon a request for legal counsel is when there the police officers in question have no legal grounds to detain that person. However, this does set up grounds for illegal search and seizure and false arrest claims against the officers in question.
 
However, we have no real evidence that this is really happening. We have no way of knowing whether the people who are allegedly being picked up by these operatives are being released or if they are actually being detained.
 
The president of the United States does not have the authority to send federal troops into any state or city to maintain or restore civil order without a declaration of martial law or in the face of a civil insurrection under the exigent circumstances rule. It is questionable whether a president has the right to send federal employees into any community unless their presence has been requested by the duly elected government of that community. We are now living in Nazi Germany, circa 1934.

Here is our situation in a (very large) nutshell.

Corrupted Civilian Police Forces

 Neo-Nazis, fascists, alt-right organization members, white nationalists, racists and anti-Semites have infiltrated police departments across the United States In many cases, the heads of those police departments identify with one or more of these groups.
 
You might not want to believe this. You might want evidence. Short of a lie detector test, the only way to find out if this is true is to ask a cop….or check the bumper stickers on their personally owned vehicles. (I asked a cop. I asked several cops. You should too.)
 
We have, however, seen police officers in various jurisdictions wearing MAGA caps while they were on duty. That might be a hint.

A Corrupted Federal Bench

More than 200 federal judges have been appointed by the Trump Administration. There are currently 870 Article III federal judgeships in the United States. Therefore, 23% of the current cadre of federal judges who might hear cases involving civil disorders are beholden to Donald Trump.

Obstruction of Legal Processes

Several key United States Attorneys have recently been forced out of their positions and been replaced with Trump appointees. Several Inspectors General who are responsible for providing financial oversight for various federal functions have been fired the current resident of the Oval Office.
 
The current president of the United States has literally said that he would bail out anyone who was arrested for beating up an anti-Trump protester. More importantly, he has demonstrated a willingness to interfere in the prosecution of offenders who are Trump supporters and has issued pardons and commutations for his henchmen.
 
The current president of the United States has also deliberately obstructed congressional investigations into his own misconduct and the misconduct of individuals either employed by him or appointed to of positions of trust by him.
 
So, we have a president who is illegally dispatching federal operatives into cities and towns in violation of the Constitution.
 
We have a president who has placed right-wing justices on the benches of the federal courts, who has installed right-wing lawyers as United States Attorneys, and who has demanded personal loyalty oaths from anyone he appoints to any position in the government.

A President Surrounded by Incompetents

We have a president who has turned a significant percentage of his presidency’s operations over to his daughter and his son-in-law, neither of whom has the background, the training, or the expertise to perform those functions. He has fired a succession of senior members of his cabinet and his administration, several of which have since been convicted of a variety of crimes. 

The Impact of the Trump Virus on American Civilization

We have a president who has mismanaged the federal response to a devastating epidemic, and who is now threatening to discontinue funding for virus testing. and who has attempted to discredit the single most highly respected doctor in the United States who also happens to be the world’s leading expert on infectious diseases,

The Attempt to Suborn and Subvert the 2020 Election

The current occupant of the Oval Office who has publicly stated that he may not abide by the outcome of the election in November if he doesn’t agree with the outcome, who has suggested that he might call off the election, and who has claimed that there is widespread fraud going on in an election that hasn’t even taken place yet.
We have a sitting president who is assiduously working to subvert the 2020 election. Thousands of poll watchers are being hired, not to make sure that the election is carried out in an orderly and legal manner, but to prevent people of color from casting their votes, and to frighten voters in Democratic districts away from the polls.
 
We have a president who is openly charging that the absentee balloting system is rigged against the Republican party, claiming that foreign governments are printing and distributing millions of absentee ballots in a ridiculous attempt to convince the American public that phony ballots would ever be counted.
 
(Each voter gets to submit one ballot. Each voter has a unique SKU number, one bar code. If more than one ballot shows up with the same SKU numbers or bar codes on them, alarm bells would go off and further investigation would determine which votes are legitimate and which are not. Rigging absentee ballots is almost categorically impossible and, in fact, absentee ballots can only be corrupted in the counting rooms.)

Russian Infiltration of the Republican Party

We have a major political party that has been subverted by agents of foreign powers who are working to subborn and subvert the functions of government. The Republicans in the United States Senate aren’t afraid of Donald Trump. They are afraid of the Russian and Chinese agents who are in possession of incriminating documents, recordings and videos that have been accumulated over several decades.
 
Democrats should not be too proud. The Russians began infiltrating the Democratic party in 1935. They began infiltrating the Republican party in 1968, immediately after the passage of the Civil Rights Acts of 19654 and 1968 shattered the Democratic hegemony in the Solid South and paving the way for the ascension of the unholy alliance between a minority political party and Southern Evangelicals as Kevin Phillips told us in his book, “American Theocracy.”
 
I could go on and on, and so could you. And we can’t even run away because the rest of the world doesn’t want us in their countries.
The s question what do we do if he tries to postpone or ignore the results of the election if the Democrats don’t grow the balls required to kick him out of the presidency.
What would you do if you came home one day and found someone else living in your house?
That’s the situation that we are facing right now.
