Rumors Say George Clooney Marriage is in Jeopardy
The less than one-year old marriage between actor George Clooney and civil rights attorney Amal Alamuddin is in jeopardy… or so it seems. Rumors are flying that Clooney, 54, who has been married to Alamuddin since September of last year, is apparently fed up with his wife and wants a divorce. There have also been reports that Clooney wants to become a politician once he retires from acting, but Alamuddin is supposedly standing in his way and preventing him from pursuing that dream.
An inside source told The National Enquirer that George thought Amal would help him fulfill his dream of running for office and maybe, one day, for president.
“Instead of being like Bill and Hillary Clinton, they have become a trashy celebrity couple like Kim and Kanye,” the source said. He put a ring on Amal’s finger and she morphed from a human rights attorney with political aspirations to a red carpet darling with her own stylist.”
Besides his political dreams possibly being in jeopardy, Clooney’s movie career might be headed in the same direction as well. His latest film, Tomorrowland has been a major disappointment at movie box offices and several sources said he blames Alamuddin for the flop.
According to celebdirtylaundry.com, the website reports that Clooney is currently remodeling their London mansion, and plans to move his wife into the luxurious house when it has been completed. After that, Clooney will move back to America alone, where he will rebuild his life all over again without Alamuddin by his side…or so the story goes.
Nevertheless, another source insists that the story published in The National Examiner was fabricated and that Clooney and his wife are still happily married. According to starpulse.com, George has been busy working on his latest film, Money Monster while Amal has been working on a case in Europe.
There is no word yet about where the couple will be celebrating their first anniversary, but sources have speculated that Mr and Mrs. Clooney may return to Italy where they got married last year. Furthermore, Clooney has a house on Lake Como, so it is possible that the couple might go there in September to celebrate their anniversary together.
Clooney, who was once known for being Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor, tied the knot to British human rights attorney, Amal Alamuddin in a private wedding ceremony in Venice, Italy in September of 2014.
According to CNN.com, Clooney arrived by motorboat at a star-studded bash at the Aman Canal Grande Venice resort, housed in the 16th-century Palazzo Papadopoli.
“George, auguri!” Venetians could be heard offering their best wishes as Clooney waved. “Auguri!” The couple looked happy as they were carried throughout the city in a motorboat, which was appropriately named “amore” or “love”.
Alamuddin was dressed in a classy black and white dress, while Clooney wore a gray suit, a white shirt and dark sunglasses. There were plenty of paparazzi, photographers and cameramen on the docks, facing the Aman Canal Grande. Others were heading up and down the canal with the use of taxi boats.
When Clooney was asked in an interview to People Magazine about his thoughts on marriage, he replied “ feels pretty damn great.”
“George and Amal radiated love all night,” Alamuddin’s mother, Baria, tells People.. “The wedding was so unbelievably special, it was legendary. These three days – the friends, the families, the atmosphere, everything – will stay with me all the rest of my life.”
In an interview that Clooney recently gave to Gossip Cop, he was astounded to hear that many people are still believing the “made-up” divorce rumors, even though they are simply not true. Besides laughing off the rumors in the interview, Clooney spoke about the love for his wife Amal and her work as a human rights lawyer.
“I’m always very proud of her when I see her speaking at the International Court of Appeals in Strasbourg, you know, with her robe on. It’s very impressive!” he said. “She’s an amazing human being and she’s caring ,and she also happens to be one of the smartest people I’ve ever met. And she’s got a great sense of humor,” he added.
