In my opinion, any possible claims of immunity or privilege Bolton might attempt to assert within the context or framework of national security are essentially impaired in light of the fact that “he may offer revelations in an upcoming book”.
Bolton, who often trumpets his patriotism, has chosen to monetize his testimony before he appears on Capitol Hill to give it.
A book deal would suggest that an outline or synopsis which discloses the nature and extent of the eventual content of what Simon & Schuster thinks will become a ‘best seller’ has been presented to the publisher…
That fact alone should be sufficient to destroy any shield there may have been against Bolton being required to testify in the impeachment and trial process…
Subpoena all of the documentation that pertains to the ‘book deal’. If for no other reason, Bolton, the Patriot, will show up to protect his payoff…
