TV Networks to Make Changes to Fall 2015-2016 Lineup

Beware television lovers because in a matter of weeks the five major networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and the CW) will be cancelling dozens of shows that were not able to meet ratings expectations. Online sources have compiled a list of shows that are already on the chopping block, in addition to others that are in danger of being cancelled.

NBC was affected the most with the cancellations of Marry Me, One Big Happy, A to Z and Bad Judge. Not to mention that  Katherine Heigl’s series, State of Affairs, failed to impress viewers. The former Grey’s Anatomy star’s series is not the only drama finding its name on the cancellation list, as the NBC drama Allegiance also failed to impress audiences this past season.

NBC is also expected to slash another drama, American Odyssey, out of its lineup. Other NBC cancellations include About a Boy, Parenthood, in addition to Parks and Recreation. According to The Huffington Post ABC’s cancellations include Revenge, The Taste, Selfie, Resurrection, Cristella, Manhattan Love Story and Forever.

The shows that have been recently axed by CBS include Battle Creek, The McCarthys, The Mentalist, The Millers, Reckless, Stalker, CSI: Criminal Investigation, Two and a Half Men and Unforgettable (This program will air its fourth season on A&E). This past season FOX cancelled The Following, Glee, Gracepoint, The Mindy Project (although Hulu might pick it up on its website), BackstromMulaney, Red Band Society, Utopia and surprisingly American Idol, which has been on air for 15 seasons.

NBC’s 2015-2016 New Shows in Fall Lineup

The first 15 shows set to debut for NBC’s fall 2015-2016 lineup are listed below. Some of these shows include Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris, Blindspot, Heartbreaker, Heroes Reborn, People Are Talking and The Player. The rest of the new shows will air sometime during the fall mid-season lineup.

ABC’s 2015-2016 new shows for this year’s fall line up will consist of The Catch, Dr. Ken, The Family, The Muppets, The Kings & Prophets, Oil, Quantico, The Real O’neills, Uncle Buck and Wicked City.

CBS Orders Four New Dramas and Two Comedies to Its Fall Schedule This Year

For the fall 2015-2016 season, CBS has ordered up four dramas in addition to two new comedies. The dramas will feature Rush Hour, Limitless, Code Black, in addition to a Criminal Minds spinoff.  In regards to comedies, Jane Lynch’s Angel From Hell and Colin Hanks’ Life in Pieces are slated to make debuts as well.

FOX and the CW’s Shows for 2015-2016 Lineup – Some of Fox’s new shows will feature The Grinder, Grandfathered, Scream Queens, Minority Report, and Rosewood. The two shows that the CW has listed in its fall lineup so far are Cordon and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

ABC Shows That Have Been Renewed so Far – It has already been confirmed by ABC that Grey’s Anatomy and Nashville will be back for at least another season. Although Grey’s Anatomy killed off its main character last month (Dr. Derek Shepherd, played by Patrick Dempsey), the show is still slated to go on into its 12th season. In addition, Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder, will also be making comebacks this coming fall.

For fans of Marvel, both Agent Carter as well as Agents of Shield are also being renewed. Secrets and Lies, starring Ryan Philippe, will make a return after having a successful run last season. Other ABC shows that have been slated to return include The Middle, The Bachelor, Extreme Weight Loss, Castle, Last Man Standing and Shark Tank.
