You will notice that the sizes of the images on the left hand column of the home page have been increased.
This was made necessary by a formatting problem on the mobile version of the website. At the former size of the featured images, the headlines were wrapping around the featured image, which trashed the home page design on mobile platforms. That has now been corrected by increasing the size of the featured image.
We will be increasing the number of items in the sidebar to compensate.
If you cannot find the excerpt box, you can turn it on by going to the Screen Options tab at the top right hand corner of the screen, right under your screen name.
Open the Screen Options and make sure the Excerpts is checked off. If it is not checked off, click on the box to turn it on. You should only have to do this once. Note that all of the options in the Screen Options Box must be turned on in order for the system to operate properly.
Also note that the Excerpt box may pop up in the right hand column or underneath the text entry window, so look for it in both places.
Headlines must be 44-68 characters including spaces.

I know others see it differently. I am clear that most, Jews and non-Jews, see it as I do.

THANKS.

Those that “see it differently” like to wear white hoods and try to march in places like Charlotte and Portland.

Amy…yes, but also some rather dim right-wing Jews.

To include ones like Bill Maher who twists other people’s statements to support his anti-Muslim agenda, while playing the “woke” limousine liberal. It is also clear that he considers animal rights (he’s on the board of PETA) to be more important than human rights (re his latest comments about BDS). In other words, all of the “hate speech” isn’t coming from the far right.

Amy…true: this is why I don’t march anymore; too many on the far Left are as hateful as others. I don’t want to validate them w my presence.

Islamophobia is way more common here among the Jewish Right than among the Jewish Left. And opposition to BDS and Islamophobia should by no means be conflated.

uhmhmm

When you state crap like “Jews in Israel are mostly white and the Palestinians are browner…” (not to mention blaming all of Islam for the 9/11 attacks) he is cloaking his racism and Islamophobia in BDS attack sheep’s clothing (like many others do).

Of course Jewish racists are going to be down on BDS, probably close to universally, but what that says is that Jewish racists are a subset of Jews who oppose BDS, not that all Jews who oppose BDS belong in that subset.

That’s a really terrible headline, Jon

Suggest one, Alan…it’s getting eyes and comments. Suggest a better one; I’ll consider it.

A guy I know in North Carolina, a professor of economics, said the same thing on Facebook this morning. If there’s another synagogue bombing, this time the President will be blatantly responsible.
This is an instance where bigotry takes different forms. As strange as it may seem, it took me a while to realize that not everyone knows what antisemitism looks like, what antisemitic dog whistles look like. Disloyalty is a big one. Aside from the utter absurdity of disloyalty being defined as backing the political party that is the majority in the House, this accusation has been used as an excuse to persecute Jews as far back as the Pharoah in Exodus and more recently than (but including) the Holocaust. The consequences of this are not theoretical.
In order for a Jewish population to be driven out of a country (at least in part), it is not necessary for the government to blatantly support that. In France, thousands have left because they felt unsafe as a result of attacks on Jews, particularly around Paris, and I’d say in this case the government is far more on the side of Jews than of their attackers. It has gotten bad enough that Putin offered French Jews asylum. Here, on the other hand, the attackers are being encouraged by the President.
The advantage we have here is that the general population would actually be outraged on our behalf, and that outrage would be genuine and public. What would happen next depends on the 2020 election. If Trump wins, we could be looking at Jews considering new homes abroad. If Trump loses, the FBI’s focus will shift drastically toward Right nationalist terrorism

The Jew-As-Disloyal meme’s an old one, back to Dreyfus, and before that. It’s tried and effective; that’s why it’s used.

Kosh…a certain set of demographics and geographic regions would be outraged. That’s it.

The problem here is that a solid third of the population is OK with Trump targeting Jews, Blacks, Brown’s, and Gays…

I expect that % ongoing, long after he is gone.
