Putin’s Bluff Failed: So He Will ‘Denazify’ Ukraine by Invading
His rant of justification and rationalization scarcely mentioned the encroachment of NATO or the ethnic cleansing and genocide perpetrated against the ‘Russian’ populace of Ukraine.
The focus of the screed in support of taking military action against Ukraine seemed to be an attempt to draw WWII parallels through clever but not so subtle false equivalencies.
‘Putin’s Bluff’ has morphed into ‘Putin’s Crusade’ to bring about the “denazification” of Ukraine the country he says shouldn’t even exist.
“Attacking Ukraine, Putin calls for ‘denazification’ of country with a Jewish leader”

The current president of Ukraine is Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy. He was born to Jewish parents on 25 January 1978 in Kryvyi Rih, then in the Ukrainian SSR.[13][14][15][16] His father, Oleksandr Zelenskyy, is a professor and head of Department of Cybernetics and Computing Hardware at the Kryvyi Rih Institute of Economics; his mother, Rymma Zelenska, used to work as an engineer.[17][18][19] His grandfather, Semyon (Simon) Ivanovych Zelenskyy, served in the Red Army (in the 57th Guards Motor Rifle Division)[20] during World War II; Semyon’s father and three brothers were killed in the Holocaust.

So here’s a question for Mr. Putin and his apologists:
Just exactly how do you “denazify” a developing Democracy headed by a president of Jewish descent and family history and ties to the Holocaust experience?

The white supremacist movement will reel.
How will they align the support of their USA traitor in chief with the dictator if he is claiming a false battle against Nazis?
They are obvious questions without answers.

Did you notice that Israel has denounced Russia’s invasion of Ukraine? I’d say it is safe to assume that Israel, officially, does not see a parallel between the nations on its border, and the nations on Russia’s border. At least that has become clear.

As a Ukrainian by extraction I am outraged. As a Jew, I am amazed to learn that the president of Ukraine is a Jew. Three of my grandparents left Kyiv in 1905 after one of the worst pogroms and now the president is a Jew. Absolutely amazing.

Ron, you’ll find this interesting. (https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/03/15/ukraine-war-proves-russia-no-longer-a-superpower/) This opinion piece shows two things that have been at issue in the discussion of Ukraine. The first thing is that it provides substance about what the “bluff” is as we have discussed it in Putin’s incursion into Ukraine. The second thing is that this sort of bluff is the act of an aggressor, and not an act of someone in defense of anything. The aggressor in this case, Russia, is acting from a position of weakness with regard to NATO. If it perceives NATO as a threat, Russia’s action is either suicidal, or it is hoping to not reveal its weakness. Furthermore, this aggression expends its capacity for a defense of Russia. It is vulnerable to attack if that were its opponent’s desire. If Russia feared NATO as an aggressor, it would take a defensive posture. Instead, it took a false (read bluff) offensive posture.
