When Progressives Over-Analyse Fascists
I become concerned when progressives analyse fascists’ moves to a point of harm, where what matters are their takes on each
separate
deliberately steamrolled
insult to democracy
so that by the time they fashion pithily refined version umpteen
wasting thought, energy
not subverting illegitimacy itself
and in too many instances expecting applause for it all
they look up surprised that detention wire and prison bars do not clap.

I think the first thing to do is to define who is and who is not a real progressive.
For example, I honestly doubt that there are any true progressives left in the leadership of the Democratic Party. Chuck “fast track all of Trump’s judges” Schumer, Nancy “impeachment is off the table” Pelosi and Steny “Bluest Blue Dog in history” Hoyer sure as hell aren’t! Pelosi’s “pithy clap” notwithstanding.
