ABC suspends Whoopi Goldberg over Holocaust remarks

ABC News suspended “The View” host Whoopi Goldberg for two weeks on Tuesday night, hours after she apologized for having falsely declared on the daytime program that the Holocaust was “not about race.”

Whoopi Goldberg is paying a price for her ignorance:

She dropped out of Washington
Irving High School in New York and, apparently, hasn’t been in a classroom since.

Caryn Elaine Johnson, known professionally as Whoopi Goldberg, is an American actor, comedian, author, and television personality. A recipient of numerous accolades, she is one of 16 entertainers to win an Emmy Award, a Grammy Award, an Academy Award, and a Tony Award. Wikipedia

She’s 67 years old. With all of her exposure and experience, you would think that she knows better.

Given the social mood and political climate, this is not a propitious way to begin Black History Month.
