You will notice that the sizes of the images on the left hand column of the home page have been increased.
This was made necessary by a formatting problem on the mobile version of the website. At the former size of the featured images, the headlines were wrapping around the featured image, which trashed the home page design on mobile platforms. That has now been corrected by increasing the size of the featured image.
We will be increasing the number of items in the sidebar to compensate.
If you cannot find the excerpt box, you can turn it on by going to the Screen Options tab at the top right hand corner of the screen, right under your screen name.
Open the Screen Options and make sure the Excerpts is checked off. If it is not checked off, click on the box to turn it on. You should only have to do this once. Note that all of the options in the Screen Options Box must be turned on in order for the system to operate properly.
Also note that the Excerpt box may pop up in the right hand column or underneath the text entry window, so look for it in both places.
Headlines must be 44-68 characters including spaces.
Use Headline Case
Do not begin headlines with punctuation marks, other symbols, or numerals

Not my first choice, but the public execution of George Floyd at the hands of police has drastically changed the political landscape…..

I rather like the choice. I found it impossible to choose from this far outside the corridors of power, but I like the choice for several reasons. First, as one reporter said yesterday, by committing to the selection of a woman, and getting that off of the table early on, this process showed how deep the Democratic bench is. I think it is good for the party, and good for the respective pols involved. It highlighted Black women politicians and journalists in particular. Second, Harris is young enough to project forward as a head of the ticket 4 or 8 years from now. Sanders and Warren lack that particular capacity. Third, the Democrats found themselves in a bit of a corner by promising a woman, and hinting about a Black woman. To do something other than that would be too much of a risk. I think bringing in someone who graduated from one of the HSBCs is a very smart move. I think inclusion elevates democracy as her presence may elevate the HSBCs as more traditional feeders to the roster of contenders for the highest office.

@Bitey;
Kamala Harris graduated from Howard University in 1986 …
I graduated from Howard in 1968…
Thurgood Marshall graduated from Howard Law School in 1933….
Howard is still the place where you can major in Black Excellence…
