Chutzpah Redefined

For those of you who aren’t familiar with this particular Yiddish word, it means unmitigated gall but more extreme than that. My father used to give the classic example of the guy who kills his parents, then throws himself on the mercy of the court on the grounds that he’s an orphan.

What could possibly compete with an example like that?

Well, this tweet:

Dumpster fire at Biden HQ! “It is impossible for me to be on any of the boards I just mentioned without saying that I’m the son of the vice president of the US. I don’t think that there’s a lot of things that would have happen in my life that if my name wasn’t Biden” Hunter Biden

The gist of this tweet is to criticize Hunter Biden for nepotism.

I picked up my wife from the airport this evening and she told me about this. It’s hard to surprise me with the outrageousness of politics any more but this was so unbelievable I had to look it up to get details. I should have had to look it up on Snopes, but no, it’s on reputable news sources and apparently was discussed by Trevor Noah. I’d normally be tempted to see what he said about this but I won’t bother because whatever he said couldn’t possibly be funnier than the event itself.

Anyone want to take a guess as to who would criticize Hunter Biden for nepotism?

Don jr.

I’m dead serious. I don’t have a vivid enough imagination to make this stuff up. I didn’t think I’d live to see the day that my father’s example would be, well, trumped.

Thank you, Don, for providing a new classic definition of Chutzpah. And, unlike my father’s, it’s not even fictitious, so you’ve trumped his definition twice.
