Not Jackie’s Dodgers v Yogi’s Yanks, Still the World Series

A Washington team hasn’t appeared in the World Series since the American League, Washington Senators did it in 1933. The Nationals will appear for the first time as the representative of the National League.

The Astros switched to the American League in 2013.  After never having gone to the World Series as the National League representative in the fall classic, this will be their 2nd turn in the World Series since winning the title in 2017.

Game one is tonight…This should be an interesting series…

At least it won’t be too cold for baseball in Houston…

BTW, In case you were wondering:

This happened in the 8th inning of the first game in the 1955 World Series.

I was 9 years old…

The Dodgers lost that game but won the series in 7 games…

I was hooked as a lifetime baseball fan, a Dodgers fan, and, most of all, a fan of Jackie Robinson…
