A Question About The Jill Biden Gambit
Biden beats Trump in the hypothetical match-up, but others can too, albeit by smaller margins….
So, here’s the question:
Is Jill Biden correct in suggesting that we should vote for Joe Biden, even if you like someone else, because the polls say that he beats Trump by the widest margin of all the Democrats running?

She did not say “only because”…tho I think trotting this out this early is a bad sign for Biden.

True, she didn’t say “only because”. I didn’t say that she did. I’m saying that her remark ‘suggests’ that we should vote for Biden, if for no other reason than he can beat Trump…
But, I get your point so the question has been reworded..

That’s what the polls say nearly a year and a half before the election. To assume they’ll stay stable while some of his opponents become better known to Democratic voters as the herd thins is not reliably valid.

I gather you don’t have any problems posting. When I hit the Members tab, it turns red but nothing else happens. I’m not seeing a Post button. Just to let you know, II I continue not to be able to post I will no longer be inclined to comment. If I seem to be AWOL, you will now know why.

In the tool bar at the top of the BS home screen, click on the ‘+’ icon. Click on ‘post’ in the drop-down menu. The prompts for posting should appear…

Seems very DNC orchestrated-ish to me. It is too similar to the DNC’s “Yeah we suck, but they suck more!” crap from 2016.
BTW, Sanders is only trailing Biden by 2%, and that is with the Democratic party doing everything they can to promote Biden, while undercutting Sanders.

It is DNC reasoning, though I don’t know if it’s DNC sourced. There are three differences this time around, one of which may be irrelevant to the DNC:
1. We now know from the numbers that how we lost the last elections was by failing to energize the base. I’m not sure this matters to the DNC in that I think they may avoid buying into that analysis even though it’s valid.
2. This time around, a Presidential candidate isn’t bankrolling the DNC.
3. There are viable candidates this time around who are unambiguously Democrats, the most viable outside of Biden being Warren.
