Re Disqualification: Klobuchar, Biden, Tessio, and Bitey
During her time as a county prosecutor in Minnesota, Amy Klobuchar failed to seek justice rather than higher office.
Now, as her failures come under greater scrutiny, she is hoping that Biden will take her off the hook.

So here’s the question:
Should Klobuchar remove herself from contention as a possible Biden running mate?

Thank you, R.P. In addition to acknowledging Abe Vigoda and Gene, I’d be remiss if I did not mention Mario Puzo and Francis Ford Coppola. They created the memorable scene.

Sorry about that. Let’s see. Even as recently as a few days ago, I thought I do not have value to add to that decision…who Biden should choose, whether it be a black woman, a white woman, or a man. I can make a case for each that pleases me. Now, each case has its benefits and drawbacks, and I want all of the benefits. The problem is that we lose some benefits when we choose others.
Now, as a practical consideration, I see the benefits of choosing a black woman. There are several black woman candidates that I like a lot. However, I am not sure that this is the best reason to choose the candidate EVEN IF it happens to be the most effective. In other words, if I allow myself to say, we must choose a this and a that in this particular case, I can’t make a case against using that same reasoning in the future. Precedent, I suppose. And I am not sure that is a good thing. On the other hand, we have had countless white make VP candidates, and one white woman. Maybe a choice by race the other way is justifiable. And maybe it isn’t.
I’m glad the choice is not mine, and I pledge to support the ticket. Should Klobuchar remove herself? Probably, but I could not make that choice for her. I suspect she will remove herself. It is better for the party. It is also better for the party if Biden does not appear to be involved in the decision for her to leave.
If it were my choice to make, I’d likely choose Stacy Abrams, and hope to get Georgia into the blue. Next would be Val Demings. I find her impressive and Florida is also in play. I also think Cuomo makes a compelling choice. I think Cory Booker would be ideal. I think a great deal about Elizabeth Warren. I have cooled a bit on Kamala Harris, but would not hate it. Out of convenience, and some respect, I will defer to the nominee.

“… I suspect she will remove herself. It is better for the party. It is also better for the party if Biden does not appear to be involved in the decision for her to leave…”
I concur….
I believe that the honorable thing for Klobuchar to do is to remove herself from consideration and not leave any appearance that she is a legitimate contender..
Biden should not be forced to respond to the inevitable inquiries should she fail to drop out of her own accord….

She’s not Eagleton yet. Glad this didn’t happen after she was chosen if she were chosen. Yes, she should pull herself out of contention
